Our Story

Cafe Celeste is more than just a restaurant, but a place to share family memories, celebrate successes and enjoy fine food.

The roots of Cafe Celeste all started from the ground up when Dilan Duwe Arachchige Don immigrated to Canada from Sri Lanka in 2008 with the hope to purse his passions and provide for his wife and kids.

Growing up with a rich cultural background of cooking and hospitality, Dilan truly lived out his life's dream in Canada to open his own restaurant to share his food and generosity with people around him.

He opened the business in 2017 and Cafe Celeste quickly became a staple in the Sherwood Park community. Since then, there have been a tremendous amount of learning curves and adversities to face but the passion for making fine Italian Cuisine has never failed. So much so that even through the economical stress of a worldwide pandemic, the business was outgrowing it's current space and needed to upsize. After months of meticulous planning, construction and an interior design re haul, Cafe Celeste is ready to open their new location December 2021, in Sherwood Park located at 590 Baseline Rd AB.

The new space offers an authentic, Italian ambiance with floor to ceiling murals, textured walls and rich decor accompanied with new modern branding. Fine foods and paired wines are our specialty and our goal as a team is to have our guests feeling as if they've walked through doors into Italy leaving their day to day behind, to enjoy the night with their family and friends.
